Qiqiao tu or Tangram was the most popular dissection puzzle in China and the West during the 19th century. While the little puzzle is nowadays still popular, its origin and history are becoming obscure and early publications of the game very rare to find. In this seminar, the speaker would share with the participants his observations on the origin of qiqiao tu in China and  some  interesting stories  of its  transmission  to  the West.  Early specimens  as  well  as publications of the puzzle will also be shown.

ALL ARE WELCOME!
