淫僧故事在公案小說中的流行，是晚明文學的重要現象。學界關於中國古代淫 僧故事的研究，存在將文學敘述等同於現實生活的傾向。本研究在總結晚明公案小 說中淫僧故事源流的基礎上，嘗試解釋其與現實生活之間的關係，並指出公案小說 在淫僧故事發展過程中所發揮的作用。
一方面，晚明公案小說中淫僧故事的來源與現實生活之間呈現疏離的關係。另 一方面，由於公案小說的商業化創作模式和作者淡漠的宗教意識，淫僧故事的改編 具有模式化和隨意性的特點。所以，晚明公案小說中大量出現的淫僧故事，在很大 程度上並非對晚明社會的真實反應，而是小說作者所建構的文學敘述。公案小說既 為淫僧故事的發展提供了豐富的情節類型和細節描寫，也參與建構了適合淫僧故事 流行的社會觀念，在淫僧故事的發展過程中佔據重要地位。
The popularization of stories of lascivious monks in gongan fiction was an important literary phenomenon in late Ming. Some previous scholarship on stories of lascivious monks in Chinese ancient literature tended to equate literary narratives with real life. Based on summarizing the sources of stories of lascivious monks in gongan fiction, this research tries to enunciate the relationship between the stories and real life, as well as the role that gongan fiction plays in the development of this category of stories.
On the one hand, many stories of lascivious monks in Late Ming gongan fiction did not derive from real life. On the other hand, as a consequence of both the commercialized writing modes of gongan fiction and the authors’ nonchalant attitudes toward religions, the adaptations of this category of stories were characterized by stereotypes and randomness. It turned out that, to a large extent, stories of lascivious monks ingongan fiction could not be regarded as an accurate reflection of real life but a literary narrative constructed by authors. Stories of lascivious monks in gongan fiction not only provided new plots and detailed descriptions to the literary history, but also helped to construct the concepts which contributed to the popularization of this category of stories.
