“朦朧詩”論爭為1980年代中國文學界主要圍繞民刊《今天》而展開的一系列討論，內容涉及新詩的思想情趣、表現技法及流派走向等。自1979年興起，到1988年以後逐漸消散，持續約十年之久。然而這場論爭的所指並不止於新詩，更涉及到八十年代中國文學場域的意識形態變遷。本演講將還原論爭發生的現場，分析論爭中正反兩派的話語形態，以辨析新時期文學史敘述中話語秩序的重建，及其中對現代化敘事的歷史想像。
The “misty poetry” (menglongshi) debate, which took place in China from 1979 to 1988, was a series of discussion surrounding primarily the folk journal Today (Jintian). Topics covered by the debate included the themes, techniques, and stylistic orientations of modern Chinese poetry. The debate, however, was not exclusively limited to modern poetry. It also concerned the ideological change in China’s literary field of the 1980s. Through reevaluating the polemic discourses in the debate, this talk will analyze both the reconfiguration of discourse order in Chinese literary history from the 1980s onward, and the imagination of modernization narrative embedded in contemporary China’s literary historiography.
