廖舜禧老師現任中文學院高級講師，兼任學院「經驗學習及交流計劃總監」，並統籌「中文及文化工作室」，同時兼任「境外學習規劃及拓展處學術總監」◦ 廖老師執教多個大學中文課程，亦開辦「數位溝通與中國文化」課程，透過網上教學，結合交流經驗，教授數位溝通及中華文化。廖老師同時開設書法、美學、茶禪、古樂、棋藝、唐卡、藏畫及本地文化考察等各種體驗課程。

廖老師先後與二十多所中國及海外高校、學術組織合作，每年帶領數百名學生前往中國及海外考察交流，足跡遍及絲綢之路、川藏古道、茶馬古道、雪域天路（古道系列）；青藏高原、黃土高原、雲貴高原（高原系列）；嶺南、京滬、甘南（服務學習系列）及東南亞（義教保育系列）。其交流及文化計劃曾獲國家教育部金獎、中央電視台「最佳組織獎」。2019年起，更開辦「本地深度體驗學習計劃」。廖老師亦積極推動知識交流，2016年起與香港電台、無線電視等各大傳媒緊密合作，推廣粵語、 廣府、香港文化及中華藝術。

廖老師是港大文學院 「Faculty Excellence Teaching Award」得主，亦是香港教育局「最值得表揚教師獎」得主 。

Mr. Hayson S. H. Liu is Senior Lecturer of the School of Chinese holding the functional title of “Head of Experiential Learning and Exchange Programmes”. He is also the Head of “Chinese Language and Culture Studio” and Academic Director of the Horizons Office. Apart from teaching various Chinese language courses, he has also launched a new online course “Digital Communication and Chinese Culture” which incorporates experiential learning, exchange programmes and E-learning. Mr. Liu has designed diverse cultural workshops and programmes on a range of themes such as Chinese Calligraphy, Aesthetics, Tea Appreciation, Zen Meditation, Traditional Guqin, Chinese Chess, Thangka Appreciation. He has also guided various local cultural tours.

Every year, Mr. Liu leads hundreds of students to Mainland China and overseas, collaborating with more than 20 prestigious institutions and organizations. Their footprints traverse the Silk Road, the ancient Sichuan-Tibetan Road, the Snow & Heaven Road and the Tea & Horse Road (the Roads Series); Tibetan Plateau, Yunnan-Guizhou plateau and Loess Plateau (the Plateaux Series); Lingnan, Peking, Shanghai and Gannan (Service Learning Series) and South-east Asia (Voluntary Teaching Series). The Ministry of Education has awarded Gold Prize to one of the series, along with the “Best Organized Programme” Award from CCTV. Starting from 2019, Mr. Liu has been organizing a series of local in-depth experiential learning tours. Knowledge Exchange is also one of Mr. Liu’s foci. Through working closely with popular media since 2016, he is dedicated in promoting Cantonese, Hong Kong and Chinese culture.

Mr. Liu is the awardee of “HKU Faculty Excellence Teaching Award” and “The Most Commendatory Teacher” by Hong Kong Education Bureau.
